  • Can I transfer to another program or other field of study?
    If there are available places, you can transfer within the university to another direction after completing the session during the summer or winter holidays. To transfer, you need to submit an application (agreed with the head of the faculty where you study) and a credit book to the dean's office of the faculty you want to transfer to. After reviewing your application, the committee of the faculty to which you are transferring will make a conclusion about the difference in curricula and the possibility of transfer. The dean's office of your faculty makes a transfer order.

  • How do I apply for an academic leave?
    Academic leave is granted due to illness or family circumstances (illness of one of the parents). To apply for academic leave, you must provide the dean's office with a certificate from the SFU student polyclinic or a certificate from your country about the health of a relative. Academic leave is usually granted for a year. You need to leave Russia for the academic leave period. If you do not return from academic leave within the specified period, you will be expelled for losing contact with the faculty.

    To recover, you need to apply to the dean's office. If there is a place, according to the decision of the academic commission, it is possible to recover no earlier than 10 months after the expulsion and no later than 5 years.

  • How can I get my tuition money back after I'm expelled?
    After the expulsion order, the university will refund your money. The amount to be refunded is calculated from the date of deduction. To do this, you need to write an application to the accounting department of the SFedU (105 Bolshaya Sadovaya St., office 405) and attach bank details, a copy of the withdrawal order, a copy of the payment receipt, and a copy of the contract to the application.

  • How do I apply for a graduate leave?
    You need to apply to your dean's office one month before graduation for a graduate leave until August 31. During this period, you can stay in a dormitory, using this time to legalize your diploma by affixing a Consular legalization or Apostille (depending on the country in which you will use the SFedU diploma) and passing entrance tests for those wishing to continue their studies at SFedU
  • The "Apostille" stamp is one of the forms of document legalization. The legalization of documents is carried out for the legitimate use of the document in another country. You can get an electronic Apostille through Public Services (Gosuslugi). The Apostille stamp for the diploma and the diploma supplement of the SFedU will be affixed to the Regional Service for Supervision and Control in the Field of Education of the Rostov region at 44 Temernitskaya St., Rostov-on-Don.
  • The consular legalization procedure is organized. A SFedU employee takes diplomas to the Russian Foreign Ministry Office in Rostov-on-Don in July. After the press of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, you need to transfer your diploma to the Consulate of your country to complete the procedure.
