Program Overview

Humans have studied the stars for thousands of years. To many cultures, stars were the metaphor for constancy, while everything else moved and changed. Modern stellar astronomy showed that stars do change on many time scales, ranging from days to longer periods of time than human history. Our students will gain new knowledge about the methods of nature research on a large scale. The opportunity to participate in research work. Training students who are interested in working in the scientific field of astrophysics, astronomy and other fields in which computer modeling, computational experiment, processing and visualization of observational data are part of the research work. The program is aimed at training scientific and pedagogical personnel capable of developing and enhancing scientific knowledge and cultural values. The program is certainly useful for school teachers; it will not only develop skills in the field of a deep understanding of physics, but also in the organization of project and research activities of schoolchildren. The teacher will have at his disposal a set of project tasks that do not lose their relevance, as well as tools for setting new tasks.

Program Benefits

Prospects. Career & Employment

The discovery that the universe is expanding was an astronomical advance, that piqued interest in astronomy and astrophysics careers worldwide. High qualified specialists will be able to work as Junior Atmospheric and Space Scientist, Research Scientist, Astrophysics Postdoctoral Researcher, etc. Also our students will be welcomed to apply for a PhD student in astrophysics position at foreign universities. Our graduates can be employed: -in astronomical institutions (institutes, observatories), in space research centers, space service centers and control centers in various countries - from Australia to Chile; -in technology and computer companies where a good command of information technology is required; as a teacher of physics and astronomy, computer science and computer technology in various educational institutions as higher, and medium-sized; -at research and production enterprises, enterprises of space instrumentation, optical and mechanical enterprises; at military enterprises.

Why is it important to pursue a higher education?

The program is aimed at training scientific and pedagogical staff who are able to develop and enhance scientific knowledge and cultural values.
