The educational program is aimed at graduates of bachelor's and specialist degrees in engineering, technical and IT fields who seek to become leaders in the digital transformation of industry. The purpose of the training is to train specialists capable of developing and implementing modern information automation technologies and managing complex projects at high-tech enterprises.

Since the first semester, undergraduates have been leading mixed teams working on tasks from industrial partners. Graduates at enterprises are engaged in the development of algorithmic and software tools and automation and control systems, carry out mathematical modeling of processes, equipment, automation systems; perform work on the preparation of applications for inventions and industrial designs, assess the value of intellectual property. Undergraduates take an active part in project activities, joining mixed student project teams as a Team Leader. The project topics are provided by industrial partners and implemented on the basis of the laboratory. The results of projects are presented in open defense to customers, students regularly take prizes at conferences of various levels, take part in competitions, and receive patents of the Russian Federation for inventions. During the first semester, all undergraduates are assigned by their academic supervisors, who accompany them throughout their studies.
The department hosts an annual conference of students, young scientists and postgraduates, which is attended by students from universities in Russia and countries near and far abroad, Mongolia, Syria, and Uzbekistan.
A number of teachers involved in the implementation of the specialized disciplines of the program have a B2 foreign language level, which allows them to form professional competencies while increasing their language competence.
