Program Overview
The academic disciplines of the master's program significantly build upon the educational programs for foreign bachelor's students majoring in "Philology." At the same time, the selection of disciplines included in the curriculum is determined by the general educational objectives based on both broad and specialized philological education. Translation-oriented disciplines are implemented considering the achievements of modern translation studies to form the theoretical and practical foundation, translation skills and abilities necessary for a highly qualified specialist. Business communication disciplines are aimed at developing systematic knowledge about business cultures and intercultural interaction with an emphasis on the specifics of business protocol and business etiquette in the Russian-speaking environment. Media communication disciplines will provide insights into professional opportunities in media and television. Research-oriented disciplines develop professional competencies for conducting scientific research in the field of philology. The program includes individual research work of master's students under the academic supervision of an instructor, group project activities with testing of results at national and international levels. Research, translation, and communication-informative practical training are designed to help students master the necessary professional skills and abilities. Foreign students with a Russian language proficiency level of at least B2 can study in this program. The second foreign language studied is English (the required proficiency level upon admission is B1).

Upon completion of the master's program, graduates can find employment in the fields of science and education, translation, intercultural and mass communication: in various government structures, private enterprises, international companies cooperating with the Russian Federation; in educational institutions of their home countries (both CIS and non-CIS states), graduates have the opportunity to continue their education in doctoral programs in the relevant specialty.
