Program Overview

This program is made for students who are interested in the scientific and philosophical study of religion. The program is aimed at training specialists in the field of scientific research of religions, expert activities on the analysis of the religious situation, religious aspects of culture, specific religious organizations and movements. "Religious studies" program provides knowledge within the following disciplines: Latin language and fundamentals of Ancient Roman culture, Ancient Greek language: a course to the origins of European culture, Church Slavonic language as a language of orthodox religious service, Theological disciplines, Specificity of religious communication, Religious freedom and inter-religious dialogue.

Program Benefits

Extensive humanitarian and fundamental philosophical training allows graduates to work in all fields of activity related to religious organizations, as well as to continue studies in such master's degree programs as Philosophy, Theology, and Sociology. Academic trainings take place at: Institute of Philosophy and Socio-Political Sciences, Rostov-on-Don Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Religious studies graduates may pursue careers in teaching, business, advertising, print or electronic journalism, radio, television or film, information technology or library sciences, Web design, publishing, museum and archival work, travel, politics, marketing, and merchandizing.
