Program Overview

Future specialists of geography and economics learn to teach, think and organize the process of education. The program follows the rules of the Federal State Educational Standard, the educational standards of SFU, and the professional standards of teaching.
To make study effective, modern technologies are used to implement an activity-based education approach. The education of bachelor’s uses different types of learning such as project-based and modular learning, brainstorming, interactive methods and other different ways to organize the educational process. Information technology will also be used, including Data Science. Multimedia learning, electronic libraries, and electronic databases of educational and methodological resources will also be used. Students learn about modern educational technologies and how these technologies can be used in different ways. They also learn about analytical approaches and methods of economic and geographical research. The study includes teaching methods in educational institutions in Rostov-on-Don and other regions.

This is the only educational program that prepares specialists to teach both geography and economics.
The program's unique feature is its focus on core subjects and training that combines general skills with specific ones. These subjects are at the junction of social and natural science. It also prepares you for master's degree programs which are offered by the Department of Socio-Economic Geography and Environmental Management.
