Program Overview

Radiophysics applied to Engineering is a multidisciplinary field, using the principles of Physics to understand, develop and apply technologies related to electromagnetic waves in this field. This branch is immersed in the understanding of various phenomena. Radiophysics seeks to optimize and improve the efficiency of different systems, such as medical imaging equipment, taking advantage of physical fundamentals to innovate in the creation and improvement of technologies that have a direct impact on the daily life of the community. This branch of Physics specializes in the analysis of the properties of electromagnetic waves and their interaction with matter, with the purpose of designing efficient devices and systems in areas such as medicine. We train highly qualified researchers and engineers to work in scientific organizations, universities, the Russian Academy of Sciences, enterprises of the real sector in the field of radio electronics, specialists in the field of IT technologies.

Program Benefits

Graduates of the program will be ready to conduct scientific research and engineering developments, as well as work in the information technology sector. Strong general scientific physical and mathematical training, training in information technology and programming. Students receive fundamental physical and mathematical training and training in the field of information technology and programming. The study of special disciplines in Radiophysics, including vacuum and semiconductor electronics, electrodynamics, radio electronics, radio wave propagation, mobile and satellite communication systems, etc. All students are involved in scientific work at the departments, starting from the third year. Protection of final qualifying works on scientific topics of the department or an industrial partner.

Prospects. Career & Employment

Our graduates can solve any problems of physics, experimental or theoretical, as well as business organization, high-tech production, setting new tasks for software startups, etc. You can work in high-tech enterprises: astronomers and physicists typically work on research teams together with engineers, technicians, and other scientists. Our graduates can find jobs in Space and Astrophysical research Centers, a special astrophysical observatory, IT companies, in the information technology sector, software development for solving research tasks, engineering and business applications, as well as system administration. In addition, work at enterprises of the nuclear industry and nuclear energy, nuclear physics research centers, enterprises of communication and telecommunications systems is not excluded.
