Basic subjects

The basic disciplines correspond to the main branches of chemical science - Inorganic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physico-chemistry of dispersed systems, High Molecular weight compounds, Electrochemistry

Specialized subjects

The set of specialized disciplines is very wide and is determined by the chosen specialization of students

Program Overview

Chemistry explores the composition, structures, and properties of elements and compounds. Chemists look at types of matter and their interactions to understand existing substances, develop new ones, and identify useful chemical processes. It provides for the widespread use of productive educational technologies in the learning process that implement an activity-based approach in education. The following methods will be used in the preparation of students: project and modular training, interactive methods and forms of organization of the educational process, information technology, sign-contextual learning, case technology. We prepare future employees in laboratories of state and non-state scientific centers conducting research in the field of chemistry and related fields (mainly in biochemistry, ecology, food production technology); research and analytical laboratories of various chemical and food industries; laboratories conducting environmental monitoring, food analysis and toxicological studies. Moreover, students pass internships in research laboratories in institutions and organizations involved in the development, research and production of medicinal substances; in the food, perfume and pharmaceutical industries.

Program Benefits

Excellent opportunity to learn all of fundamentals of modern Chemistry and to become a high-demanded specialist; The educational program was developed with a support of highly qualified professors; Opportunity to participate in scientific research, in conferences and forums at various levels; Prospect to be published in academic periodical (scientific journal); Early vocational orientation of students allows to successfully determine the major of specialization and to study in more particular section of Chemistry (analytical, physical, inorganic, organic, etc.); Students can choose set of elective courses and themes of their own scientific research to form unique study plan; Wide range of different professional competences; Traditional studies are combined with scientific research and innovation activities; All conditions for realization of student scientific potential (e.g. work in the student research laboratories of the Chemical Department with the prospect of participating in grants, conferences, internships etc.)

Prospects. Career & Employment

Graduates are potentially in demand at enterprises of chemical-analytical, chemical, food and pharmaceutical profile, in environmental laboratories. After educational program students can: Continue their education at Master's Degree and postgraduate studies; Become qualified scientific employees in academic universities, specialized institutes, scientific and educational centers of Russian or foreign companies;
