Program Overview

The latest educational technologies are used to train bachelor's degree students in the field of "Information and Communication Technologies and Systems." Special subjects present the latest achievements in relevant subject areas. The educational process uses multimedia and information technologies with computers that have specialized licensed software. Laboratory classes are conducted using modern facilities. Study materials for the disciplines are available electronically including through the university's electronic information educational environment.
Students learn the programming languages C/C++ and Python during their education.
In the courses "Informatics in Telecommunications," "Computer Modeling," and a number of other specialized disciplines. Students learn how to use software packages and development environments such as MatLab, Octave, CST Studio Suite, QT, and Visual Studio.
Students work with SDR technology within the framework of project activities.
Bachelor's degree students are involved in scientific research in student laboratories and at the collective radio station of SedFU. They also participate in international, all-Russian, and regional conferences and scientific schools.
During their education, students are taught by highly qualified professors and leading scientists with Ph.D. and Grand Ph.D.

Program Benefits

The fast growth of means of communication creates a need for highly skilled professionals, scientists and engineers who can develop, set up, and use modern telecommunications systems and other radio tools. People who graduate from this program can work in a variety of fields. They use different technologies, tools, systems, and methods to allow people to share information over long distances through wire, radio, or optical communication systems.
The program considers both the needs of the regional job market and the future growth of the modern communication systems industry. The teaching staff are well known in the scientific community. They have also worked at companies and organizations in the radio engineering field for a long time.
A key part of the program is the chance to work with top companies in Rostov-on-Don to develop and manage different communication systems. From the third year, students have one day a week that is free from classes. This day is spent at one of the enterprises where students get practical skills. Thanks to this, students can combine classroom learning at the Department of Physics with work experience. This helps them gain the professional skills they need. They do this by taking part in real projects to develop hardware and software during their internship and pre-graduating practice.
This program has two advantages. First, program Infocommunication technologies and communication systems (11.03.02) is a priority. This allows the most successful students to participate in competitions for additional scholarships from the President and the Government of the Russian Federation.
After completing this educational program graduates can enter the master's program at the Department of Physics to the program Infocommunication technologies and communication systems (11.04.02). After graduating, you can also continue your education in SFedU's postgraduate program.

Why is it important to pursue a higher education?

Rostov-on-Don has a lot of telecommunications companies and radio engineering enterprises. The Department of Physics developed its educational program by working closely with companies in Rostov-on-Don.
The program prepares graduates with advanced training in the field of formation, storage, transmission, reception, processing, and protection of digital signals. It focuses on the actual problems of information exchange at a distance using modern tools of communication. Students learn to develop, design, research and operate radio-electronic systems for different purposes. Our graduates are highly qualified specialists. They find jobs at companies and organizations that need people with skills in hardware and software development, radio communication, and radar and navigation systems. Graduates can work in many different jobs such as engineer, development engineer, software engineer, test engineer, communications engineer, systems and networks developer, researcher, IT department specialist etc.
